ive decided to take the investigation of the camera further than taking it appart. really looking deeply at the materials and working into them to see what i can find.how far do i go though? is this enough?

  1. It may be that the process itself is what is most important. If so the way you document what you are doing becomes the art object rather than the actual starting point. Find an interesting argument on whether or not documentation can support or kill off art practice at http://blog.art21.org/2009/03/05/on-representations-of-the-artist-at-work/

  2. this argument raises a lot of questions about the idea of documentation which has made me question if my work is about process of my investigations. so far im still not sure! i could use the documentation of the working into the material either through photography or filming the act. this could work really well, but im not sure if this is the way for me i think the process is more of a means to an end and got me thinking past the suspension of the camera parts.

  3. thinking more about this, my last project of the first year at the mill i joined a spinning group and for the exhibition i exhibited a video of the process of spinning rather than the spun wool. this became much more about the process and documentation than the actual object.
